In Memoriam - Douglas Holt

Douglas C. Holt passed away on July 26th, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. He was 73 and lived in Lakewood, WA.

Doug was very involved in activities at Wilson. He was a member of the Key Club, who sponsored the largest dance ever held at Wilson. Doug also played a leading role, the prosecuting attorney, in the school play "The Trial of Nancy Gage".

In Memoriam - Deloris Tonkin

Deloris Jean (Tonkin) Bergstrom was born in Tacoma and passed away August 13, 2020 at her home in Sharpsburg, GA.

At Wilson, Deloris was a member of the Boys' and Girls' Glee Club, which enabled interested students to learn the basic techniques of vocal music and prepared them for more advanced groups like Mixed Chorus and A Cappella Choir. She also performed at all Wilson's concerts and at several Tacoma Elementary Schools throughout the school year.

In Memoriam - Janice Butcher

Janice (Butcher) Barbee passed away on June 26th. She was always very positive and had a contagious smile. At Wilson, she was a member of the Capella Choir, who had many performances at Wilson including baccalaureate and commencement. The choir entertained at Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, elementary and junior hight schools, Handel's Messiah at the University of Puget Sound and the highlight of the year was a live performance on KTAC radio at Christmas. After graduating from Wilson, Janice received her registered nursing degree from Tacoma Community College. Jan was a dedicated and invaluable Labor & Delivery nurse at St. Joseph hospital for over thirty years.

55th Reunion - Rescheduled

Hello Wilson Alumni,

Our Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1965 is coming up on another milestone, the 55th anniversary of our graduation. To commemorate this anniversary we've been planning a very special party. However, there has been a glitch, the Coronavirus Pandemic.

We wanted to notify everyone that in these challenging times, the reunion committee has had to postpone our 55th Reunion Celebration for this year. We rescheduled for next year, 2021 when we hope it will be safe to come together. This IS going to happen!!

Science and medical authorities say this pandemic may last longer than one year, so tickets will go on sale closer to the event date, perhaps early Spring 2021. We'll be emailing you again when the ticket price is set and they are on sale.

We are eagerly anticipating a really exciting 55th Reunion and can't wait to see everyone there. So, save the date!

In Memoriam - Rosanne Budinich

Rosanne Marie (Budinich) Tibbits passed away on April 10, 2020.

Mikel Ann Robinson said about Rosanne: "I had the opportunity to socialize with Roseanne after high school. We spent many nights and afternoons watching Slow Pitch games at Peck Field and beyond during the 1970s. She was an energetic, caring person."

At Wilson, Rosanne was a member of the Girls' and Boys' Glee Club, which gave her skill in vocal music techniques. As part of Glee Club, she performed at all Wilson Music Department presentations, entertained at Tacoma Elementary Schools, and appeared in the Mixed Chorus and the Acapella Chorus
